Online Girls Expressive Arts and Friendship Group

Picture

Who: Preteen Girls Ages 9-12 Years Old Who Reside In California (8 Spots Available)
What: Online 10 Week Expressive Arts Friendship Group
When: Check back here for when we will offer this next!

Girls will engage in a 10 week Expressive Arts Friendship Group that includes a diversity of visual and performing arts activities based on the Go Girls!TM Culture Code, a 5-point social/emotional framework.
Go Girls! is a safe space that will allow your daughter to SHINE through activities and practice making bold and brave choices in her life and her community.
As a Go Girl, we learn to say yes to new challenges and no to keep yourself safe, celebrate mistakes as a chance to learn and grow, give and take, feel your feelings, and take center stage. Each Go Girl will have the opportunity to make new friends and art, play theater games, dance, and celebrate their unique gifts with each other.

Drawn from evidence-based practices, this small play therapy group led by a clinician who understands the value of children's play, gives your child tools to improve social skills, emotional intelligence and self-confidence.

Games and coaching are provided to teach your child skills in successfully navigating the social arena including topics such as joining in play with peers, handling frustration and disappointment, creating mutually joyful friendships, successfully resolving conflicts, reading nonverbal social cues, expressing yourself authentically and kindly, and maintaining attention & organization.

All activities are play and relationship-based and many incorporate
sensory regulation strategies, emotional management techniques, and
all incorporate self-awareness, creativity, and fun!

Appropriate for children who could use a little extra support to engage socially with peers, manage attention and body regulation, and successfully manage their emotions. Limit of 4 children per group to maximize social learning.

Themes and activities may be drawn from Michelle Garcia Winner’s Social Thinking curriculum, Play and Drama Therapy, Mindfulness, and the transformational social-emotional learning toys Kimochis
®.
